Summary: Most of us know bits of the Bible really well. We can find enormous blessing from reflecting on it

But how does it all hang together? And what about the parts where God seems different in the Old Testament to what He’s like in the New?

This course will help you navigate its pages, and learn tools for wise interpretation and application so you can ‘read the Bible for all it’s worth’

What is the narrative of the Old Testament and what do we learn about God?

  • A look at origins, and God’s focus on Abraham and Israel
  • How exodus and Exile are defining parts of the narrative
  • How the apparent tricky judgment passages should be understood
  • What do the prophets tell us of God’s purposes for his people and today
  • How do we interpret the Old Testament in the light of the New?
  • What do we make of the different kind of literature in the Old Testament

A look at the narrative of the New Testament and what we learn of God?

  • The coming of Jesus as the pivotal event
  • The coming of the Spirit and His work in the church
  • Navigating the teaching of the Epistles for your life today
  • What do we make of the different kind of literature in the New Testament?

How does God’s story interact with your story?

How should you read it for personal benefit?

What does the Bible’s narrative say to us about the church’s role in the world today?
