Meet the team

Mark Markiewicz, CEO

Mark served as a missionary with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) for 20 years, in the UK, Kazakhstan and America finishing as the National Director for YWAM England. He has worked with various global ministries as a Senior Leader, Consultant and Trustee. He brings this wealth of experience to Waverley Abbey Trust as the Chief Executive Officer. Mark became a Christian at 11 years old and grew up reading Every Day With Jesus. He knows that it is an honour and privilege to see the mission develop and expand in the coming years. Mark loves creating strategy, connecting people and tidying up!

Dr Micha Jazz, Director of Waverley Abbey Resources

Micha has worked with Youth For Christ, the Evangelical Alliance, and Spring Harvest. He broadcasts on Premier Radio and is a professional mediator, communicator and academic. Micha’s ability in enabling people to realise their potential is ideal for leading the development of Waverley Abbey Resources in equipping people to live everyday with Jesus. Micha and his wife also run St. Cuthbert’s Oratory, a house of prayer offering hospitality, hope and healing.

Michele LeTissier, Marketing and Communications

Michele’s range of marketing experience, paired with her passion for the Bible, make her a great leader for Waverley Abbey’s marketing and communications team. She has nearly 20 years of experience in managing marketing teams, leading organisational growth and developing brands. When she’s not networking with Christian media, or raising the profile of Waverley Abbey Trust, she’s motivating her creative marketing team around her.

Bob Stradling, Director of Waverley Abbey College

After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant Bob moved into commercial training and from there into the Higher Education sector where he has worked for over twenty five years in a range of institutions and roles helping to provide leadership often in situations where significant change was required.

Jackie Girling, Operations Manager

With a background in teaching, publishing and marketing Jackie is an ideal fit for Waverley Abbey Trust’s ministry. Her passion for hospitality means she is always ready to welcome guests to Waverley Abbey House. She first came to the house for just three weeks – to help out with the Christmas post – yet 16 years later she’s at the heart of our venue, making sure everything runs smoothly.

Amanda Pickering, Company Secretary & EA to CEO and Board

Amanda thrives on ensuring the charity runs smoothly and efficiently. Amanda has always been an avid organiser and planner and passionate about administration. Her 20 years’ experience in working for a variety of private and public sector organisations prepared her for service to CWR in 2016. Amanda loves to use her gifts and talents in order to further God’s kingdom.

Peter Cowley, Director of Finance and Operations

Peter has joined CWR from CPO (Christian Publishing & Outreach) where he was Director of Finance & Resources for three years, in a role which latterly also involved interim secondments to Pilgrim Friends’ Society and Keychange Charity.  Peter acts as Treasurer for the PCC at his local church, where he also serves as a guitarist/singer.  His earlier career took in strategic, financial and sales planning roles with firms including AZ Electronic Materials The Timberland Company, Kimberly-Clark, and Fisons. Peter feels privileged to have witnessed God’s hand in action during his work with Christian charities.
