Who we are and what we do
We are a charity serving the global Church with practical resources, to support you to grow in your Christian faith, understand the times in which we live and respond to the challenge to serve God in every sphere of life.
Through the resources we publish, the students we welcome to our college, and the visitors we host, we are mobilising a prayerful community rooted in scripture. We share a passion for revival on our streets, across our communities, in our towns and cities, throughout our nation and to the ends of the earth.
Our Waverley Abbey College programmes are designed to meet you where you’re at on your journey of maturing in Christ. Our Higher Education programmes address Counselling, Spiritual Formation and effective leadership. Whether you are attending a one-off evening session, or taking part in our part-time MA in Counselling, our courses are taught with an excellence and dedication to research and resources. Hallmarked by our devotion to the transformative power of God’s Word and the practical outworking of learning in your everyday relationships and lives.
All Waverley Abbey Resources are rooted in the Bible and inspired by our vision to help people realise their potential and serve God effectively through their lives. We are here to help you walk in step with Jesus every day and support you as you help others.
We open the doors of Waverley Abbey House for organisations, charities, churches and individuals to make the most of its restful atmosphere, beautiful grounds and high quality function rooms. We welcome people on day courses, retreats and quiet days. We also invite you to join in the regular rhythm of prayer carried by our resident 24-7 Prayer community and join us for prayer in our dedicated prayer room.
Our CWR International Christian counselling courses have been developed over a number of decades and are based on the pioneering work of the late Rev Dr Selwyn Hughes and his association with Dr Larry Crabb. The highly acclaimed Certificate, Diploma and Degree Courses in Christian Counselling that we run in the UK have over the years been substantially refined and developed. The current 120-hour Introduction to Christian Counselling and Pastoral Care Programme was originally known as the International School of Christian Counselling (ISCC) – a one-week programme that attracted many hundreds of students in locations around the world. We run counselling courses in both Singapore and Cambodia.
